Nutritional Consultations
Good nutrition is key to keeping your pet healthy and happy. Dr. Tummon offers nutritional consultations to help you choose a diet that fits your pet’s unique nutritional needs. During a consultation, Dr. Tummon and his team will work closely with you to understand your pet’s specific needs and any current health concerns. We will take into consideration your pet’s age, breed, and activity level, and recommend a diet best suited to the unique needs of your pet.
Vaccinations
Information about vaccinations is constantly evolving. in recent years the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) and the American Association of Feline Practioners (AAFP) have released updated vaccination guidelines. They’re continuing to research the duration and effectiveness of vaccines.
Our staff are happy to discuss your pet’s health, lifestyle and risk factors with you prior to recommending a personalized wellness plan including recommendations for a tailored vaccine protocol.
Parasite Protection
Fleas and heartworms are the most well-know parasites, however, ticks have been spreading in recent years due to climate change. As soon as outdoor temperatures rise to four degrees Celsius, ticks become active.
We recommend a combination of preventive treatments to protect against both internal and external parasites. We are happy to discuss your pet’s health, lifestyle and risk factors with you prior to recommending a parasite protection plan best suited for your pet.

Surgery & Anesthesia
We know how stressful surgery can be for pets and their owners. That`s why we utilize the safest available anesthetics and stay abreast the most current practices.
All surgical patients are given a thorough exam prior to their procedure. An intravenous catheter is placed to administer fluids and to ensure access in the case of an emergency. You can be assured that your pet is monitored throughout their procedure by a dedicated Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT).
To provide an extra margin of safety we recommend preoperative blood testing especially in the case of older or high risk patients.
In the case of orthopedic or extensive soft tissue surgeries we have the opportunity to utilize the vast experience of a local mobile veterinary surgeon.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound is a skill that is not taught in veterinary college. Learning to do a complete and thorough diagnostic ultrasound requires a large amount of training, studying and practice.
In order to provide our clients with the very best care we offer mobile ultrasound by Dr. Karen Cullen. Dr. Cullen is certified in small animal ultrasound by the International Veterinary Ultrasound Society.
Radiology
We are proud to offer our clients digital radiography. This new technology uses less radiation than traditional radiography while capturing a crisper more diagnostic image.
In the case of nervous patients or patients experiencing pain we recommend chemical assistance in the form of sedation. We truly believe this provides the best experience for your pet, while minimizing radiation exposure from retakes.
The interpretation of radiographic images is an art and science. In order to assure that no detail is missed we are able to digitally consult with Dr Laura Crews; diplomat of the American College of Veterinary Radiology.
Dentistry
Did you know that the build up of bacteria on the teeth can enter your pet’s blood stream? This migration can cause damage to your pet’s organs including their heart and kidneys.
Studies have shown that 80% of dogs and 70% of cats have some form of periodontal disease by the age of three. We’d be happy to discuss a tailored dental wellness plan based on you pets needs. This may include tooth brushing, dental diets, chews, water additives or a cleaning under general anesthetic with or without extractions as required.
The earlier you invests in you pet’s dental health the healthier and happier they will be. Plus no dog breath!
